capitol, viii-vii-xiii

Oh I think we all knew I couldn't go a whole day without the obligatory capitol building shot with the new camera, didn't we? I wandered over on my first break this morning, before the day got too hot.

For those keeping score at home, I used the landscape scene mode for this one. I was going to try a light HDR setting, but meh. I tried to use the electronic level but the end result is off about half a degree (my fault, not the camera's - I lost the level on the shutter press). I reduced the picture size to 1680x1260 for posting, but otherwise this is straight from the camera. (Lots of detail and very little noise in the full-size version, which is 4000x3000. I like the greens and blues of the landscape mode.)

It's going to take a while to learn how to use this camera properly, but it has a fun steampunk vibe to it. I think it will tide me over nicely until Leica sends me an M-E with a 35mm Summicron. :)
