The kunga was a status symbol long before the thoroughbred (NY Times). Predates the previous earliest known hybrid, the mule, by 1,500 years.

Cora hasn't been using her run-in shed, and Rocky is new to the paddock,
so the ranch owners put their hay inside to get them more comfortable inside.
(Cora doesn't like feeling enclosed -
she prefers wide-open spaces to narrow trails.)

Leeloo was making biscuits on Bren's grandpa's jacket before I left this morning.
Rocky has been pushing Cora around a little when I'm in the paddock.
He's not being "bad" at all, he just thinks he should be the boss.
("Bad" is never a useful word in this context.)
I'm going to spend more time in the paddock with them both,
doing nothing, until he gets bored with me.
