Spent four great hours with this guy this morning. We had a gentle, balanced lesson and afterward Kelly showed me how to give him a bath, then we went for a quiet walk and a little grazing while he dried. There really aren't many things I'd rather be doing on a warm, breezy Texas morning. This place is mystical - it's like time here is one moment of grace after another, like when you ask him to move with a touch, or a thought, and he does, or you look up and find him looking right back into you - lots to learn here.

A pair of red-tailed hawks at the bus stop this afternoon.
The one on the left was doing a lot of screeching, probably a fledgling.
The one on the right seemed tired.
