lesson notes, mmxvii-x-xviii

Susan's visiting from Colorado and brought some cold weather with her - today was our coldest morning since last winter. The horses were all a bit flighty and kept us on our toes. Susan worked with Koby on the ground and with Fancy and Kelly in the arena; I lunged and rode Leda in the round pen. I caught Leda's trotting rhythm for a couple laps, and oh my gosh, it was 30 or 40 of the best seconds of my life. We visited with several other horses afterwards, including sweet old Hot Shot -  we had a nice talk (he's leaving Monday). A magnificent morning, grace and blessings abounding.

  1. I wondered about Susan's hat and jacket--how "cold" was your cold?
So-so good a time for both of you! :))

    1. We got down to the low 30s at the house, the ranch got down to 27. It was in the 40s when we started but it was really nice in the sun.

    2. That is chilly --even for us
She is going to need a hat like that when she gets back--
High for Monday is threatened to be 31.

    3. Mom,speaking of jackets, the red and black plaid one Mark is wearing was my grandfather's, then my mom claimed it, and now it's Mark's. It looks good on him at the horse ranch. Maybe he would make a great barn manager...
