field notes, iii-xii-xiii

These guys are in a sheltered spot near the juniper of a few days ago. They've been blooming happily all winter.

I've been working with Ondine to get her used to a head halter. (Her mileage total will be low this month, but that's not really reflective of how hard she's working.)

  1. Have you had any rain lately, from the snowy storms that have gone through the plains?

  2. We woke to a Christmas card winter wonderland this morning--thanks to a "surprise snow" with the jet stream dropping more south than predicted.
The trees looked like those put in Christmas villages. The streets were not snowy, mostly wet (some ice).

  3. We got a little rain one night last week, but we're mostly catching trailing winds.
