Like all equines, mules are excellent at matching strides with their herd mates, whether horse or human. The middle frame in this set is doubly cool because you can see Cora booping a milkweed plant with her nose mid-stride. She is trained to target traffic cones by touching them with her nose, and since I had stopped to take a picture of that plant just prior to setting up this video sequence, I think she targeted the milkweed in the hope of getting a click and a treat. :)

Super nice and handsome Mac, a 19-yo, 16+ hands Shire/Thoroughbred cross, joined the herd yesterday. Cora's a litte smitten. She got new boots and a new fly mask thus morning so she's a well turned-out mule.
