A fascinating creature, fuligo septica, a slime mold, in several different forms: 1) the fruiting body; 2) a fruiting body which has adorned itself with a straggler daisy (slime molds have a refined aesthetic sense); 3) a fruiting body that has been disturbed (and which has likely already released its spores); and 4) the same disturbed body reverting to its more mobile, slug-like form as it returns back to the soil.
