ranch notes, mmxxi-ii-xxv
Barney on the Andy Griffith show once described someone as
"happier than a mule eatin' briars,"
but in this particular case it looks like somebody spilled
a cup of grain near this stump and grain beats briars any day

the mares were out up top today so we just goofed around
I brushed Cora and then Harmony came and asked for some too
there were a million dead ants in an old log but another million lived through it

first time out since the xi'th
lots of limbs down but the equines are all ok
Cora pushed against the fallen branch in the top picture
and looked at me like, this ain't supposed to be here
she's starting to shed already; they all are
(the coat length follows the day length, not the temperature,
but i'll bet they're all glad they had some when they needed it)

family notes, mmxxi-ii-xxi
the kids and grandkids have been without water for nearly a week
we never lost it but we had a limit-use-and-boil notice that ended yesterday morning
so the kids and grandkids came at various times this weekend
to worsh up and do laundry and celebrate and stuff
