I made my friends test the 19th century's hottest dating tactic: reading aloud (atlas obscura): "...she triple-axeled the impenetrable sentences like some kind of syllabic ice dancer..."
I like reading to Ondine. She's a good listener.
Oh wow gosh: The Secret (return to the center).

Walked Cú to a nearby park with some wide-open fields early this afternoon for some leash work - lots of quick direction and speed changes to encourage him not to pull. On the way we stumbled upon a fishing derby at the duck pond, so we got some socialization work in, too. Not that he really needs it - he's always good with people, but it was a good opportunity to walk through a crowd. He seemed a bit flabbergasted at first; he stood quietly and watched what was going on for a minute, then turned and checked back in with me - and we had a giant treat-and-lovin' party. This guy is an excellent candidate for therapy work.
We did some fun forest-sniffing on the way home. :)

"Home economists got paid the most, but I was not good at zippers. This was depressing. I read more." - Margaret Atwood (via Myth & Moor, The books that shape us: 4.)
